Meet Eleanor

If you have been a loyal follower of mine for awhile, you may have noticed that I travel often and that I live for road trips. Any chance that I can stay in an Airbnb, I typically stay in an Airstream or travel trailer because I have an obsession with them.

I’ve had an obsession with them for as long as I can remember and I knew from a young age that someday I would have my very own.

After years of dreaming of a camper, months of research and endless YouTube videos and blogs, I searched through Craigslist and found a listing for a 1978 Trillium 4500 camper nearby.ย The listing included these pictures:

I was already enamoured with this old gem but decided to pray about it and speak with my parents before taking the next step. With my parents approval, I sent an e-mail to the sweet older couple who happened to be selling it and asked to go see it that weekend.

When I first walked inside, I instantly fell in love. I knew I had to her.

I made an offer and they accepted! On November 15th, she was delivered and I became an official camper owner! I named her Eleanor. She may be old and little but she’s mine.

I am so proud to be part of this amazing camper community now and I cannot wait until I hit the road with Eleanor. Of course, I still have to decide where our first road trip destination will be but I am so excited!

Today marks one month that Eleanor has been in my life and little by little I am making her my own. I have a few ideas and projects in mind before I take her on her first big road trip and if you would like to follow along be sure to follow hereย for more updates.

Happy camping everyone!

Shulammite Spotlight

During this months Shulammite Spotlight, I would like to shine the light on A Girl & Her Van.

Alex & Talkeetna roam around in her loyal VW and have the idea that a life lived passionately is better than any paycheck.
I am currently obsessed with her blog and Instagram account and I’m sure you will be too!

Random fact time: I have wanted to save money for an Airstream/RV since I was a little girl to travel around and enjoy the simple life.
Needless to say this video encouraged me to keep on saving in hopes of someday having one of my own.

I’ll be going out of town this week on a road trip with my best friend Chelsea where we will be staying in the Airbnb of my dreams so stay tuned!

Xoxo
