So lately I’ve been really wanting to push myself spiritually, which includes going out in service more than once a week, getting back to my personal study, working on my family study with my mother, continuing a bible study with a younger cousin of mine and preparing more in depth for my meetings.
“Imitate Their Faith,” is the book that I go over for my personal study which has really helped me notice details of bible accounts that I overlooked or never gave much thought to before.
“The Secret of Family Happiness,” is the book my mother chose to go over for our family study. Having a regular set day and time to study is a bit overwhelming but we are trying to make it work.
This week I managed to have my personal study on Monday along with having my family study afterwards, and before my mom fell asleep, I read to her a few chapters from the book of Proverbs which contains a great amount of insight.
Yesterday when I went to speak with an adviser at my community college, I took a few magazines from last month and the previous month, containing articles I thought might relate to some people regarding the true meaning of happiness and success. I’m hoping that when I placed them in the main lobby that someone took interest in them. You never know when you plant seeds and how they will grow.
This morning, I woke up early and just stayed in bed knowing I should get up and get ready for service, but really dreaded leaving my warm bed. I dreaded going out even more because I’ve had a sinus infection and knew that not being completely over it might make me feel worse.
I prayed while I was in bed knowing the right thing to do but making all sorts of excuses. But then I thought about a long time goal I’ve always had about serving where there is a greater need and knowing that if I can’t get out of bed here to make it out in service, how am I ever going to make it out in service in another country? I prayed for strength and before I knew it I jumped out of bed .

After service was over, a new grocery store that has a market style vibe had it’s grand opening so the boys and I decided to stop by and check it out.

Overall, it was a great day and I’m glad I made it out in service. More importantly, I know I made Jehovah happy. It doesn’t matter that we didn’t find anyone at home or anyone interested, it just matters that we do what we can, when we can to do his will.

It is so insightful! Like when I found out how long the cherub angels guarded the Garden of Eden preventing Adam & Eve to go back in, I was like, “Whatttt?!”
