Small steps

I’ve always loved to bake. More recently I started baking everything from scratch and I feel if it’s not from scratch, it’s not from the heart.

I’ve been thinking about going to culinary school or pastry school. I haven’t fully decided yet but I started considering that maybe if I worked in a kitchen environment, I may be able to decide what I would really be interested in doing in the long run.

I have no professional experience but I have started sending my resumes out to bakeries in my area.

Yesterday afternoon I received an email from one of my favorite bakeries saying that I should come in and fill out an application for a “froster,” for their cakes. While its not fully baking, I would really love the experience so I went in to get an application.

I have no idea whether I’ll get an interview or the job but here’s to hoping!

Its a small step, but none the less, a small step towards a passion of mine.
